Invitation to global units “Copenhagen
Session no. 2” – Wednesday March 2nd.Dear Friends, Colleagues and music lovers,
musicians, composers, DJ’s, VJ’s, writers, graphic designers, graffiti artists, fans and ….
Come and join us!
We hereby invite you, global units members and hopefully coming members to participate in our upcoming “Copenhagen session no.2” .
The event is made possible in collaboration with LiveRec and Noonan-Media.
Wednesday March 2nd and subsequently the first Wednesday of every month we open the doors for an evening of genre clash and partially improvised sessions. We turn up the microphones and opens for live Internet audio streaming directly to facebook, and our own webpage. As well as we do video and multi track audio recording for later editing, and concert release on our website. *
The meeting between the genre: We see it as super exciting if artists from different genres wants to participate. Actually, we prefer not think about genre, not that artists from different background would necessarily have to play together, but because one evening with different musical genre/content, will surely be an inspiration to us all.
Open for ideas: both in terms of musicians, composers, VJ artistry, painting and remixing… As long as it is in Global Units spirit! – Please read more here.
The main idea is to have approx. 4 improvised/semi-improvised concerts of approx. 25 min duration each.
This does not mean that this is a closed country for composers! All composers who have an idea for how a 25-minute impro concert is orchestrated and staged is very welcome to come with your ideas. Actually, we consider it as very important and exciting to work with improvisation within a compositional framework so that there will be a positive form and direction of the concerts. As well within the 25 minuttes there can be pre-composed material as long as it’s working relation to the rest of the 25 min. A series of pictures, paintings and texts could as an example be a starting point for the concert and its focal point.
We turn up the recording devices, and I join on of the evening concerts – not necessarily bass, it can also be keys, melodica, computer effects, Perc, Bass, Cello, etc.
The program will be as follows: (There is openness to suggestions for revision)
Doors opens at. 18.
1. concert – 19 – 19:30 (*maximum 25 min of music)
DJ and presentation in between
2. concert – 20 – 20:30 (*maximum 25 min of music)
DJ in between.
3. concert – 21 – 21:30 (*maximum 25 min of music)
DJ in between.
4. concert – 22 – 22:30 (*maximum 25 min of music)
DJ and smalltalk untill approx. 24 -
24 – 01 We do clean up, hopefully some can help
* We use bandcamp to upload the music afterwards, and they only accepts up to 25 min of music for each upload.

To enable us to put together an exciting and organized program for the evening, it is important for us to know who wants to participate. So send us an email, or use our contact page as soon as possible, preferably with ideas for who you want to play with or who you think we should invite to play. We naturally hope of great interest and if there should be room for your spot in the first place, do not worry, there is an event again next month for which you get on a waiting list.

A super exciting and enjoyable evening under relaxed conditions, where they can meet the artists in working in their “idea workshop”.

We are convinced that the name Global Units, in addition to our website written thoughts, communicate: humility and respect between people, a shared sense of responsibility for our planet’s well being that we in Global Units auspices can meet without religious or other cultural barriers .
